Parent Handbook

Everything you need to know about being part of the OKC Ignite family. This guide covers expectations, schedules, policies, and more.

1

Team Expectations

All athletes are expected to attend every practice and tournament. If you must miss, notify the coaching staff at least 24 hours in advance. Athletes should arrive at least 15 minutes early to warm up. Respectful behavior toward coaches, teammates, officials, and opponents is mandatory at all times.

2

Practice Schedule

Practice schedules vary by team and are set at the beginning of each season. Practices are held at Cole Community Center (4400 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73116). Updated schedules are shared via the team communication channel. Practice times may shift during tournament weekends.

3

Tournament Information

Tournament schedules are published before each season. Families are responsible for their own travel and lodging for out-of-town events. Athletes must arrive at the tournament venue at the time designated by their coach. Pool play schedules and bracket updates will be communicated through the team app.

4

Communication Guidelines

Coaches will communicate through email and the team messaging app. Parents should direct all concerns to the club director rather than approaching coaches during practice or tournaments. Allow 24 hours for a response to non-urgent questions. For urgent matters, call or text the club phone number.

5

Uniform Policy

Players must wear the complete OKC Ignite uniform during all sanctioned matches, including the correct jersey, spandex, and knee pads. Hair accessories and jewelry must comply with USAV rules. Warm-up gear is available through the Merch Shop. Each player receives one home and one away jersey at the start of the season.

6

Financial Obligations

Club dues cover coaching fees, gym rental, tournament entry fees, and insurance. Payment plans are available upon request. Dues are non-refundable after the season begins, except as outlined in our Refund Policy. Additional costs may include travel expenses, optional camps, and extra training sessions.

7

Code of Conduct

All players, parents, and spectators are expected to uphold the OKC Ignite Code of Conduct. Unsportsmanlike behavior, including verbal abuse of officials or opponents, will not be tolerated. Violations may result in suspension or dismissal from the club. Please review our full Code of Conduct policy for details.

8

Health & Safety

All athletes must have a current physical on file before the first practice. Parents should inform coaches of any allergies, medical conditions, or injuries. Athletic trainers are available at tournaments. Concussion protocols follow USAV guidelines. See our Safety & Waivers page for required forms.
